Gate-Net Associates, Inc. (GNA) was founded in February of 1989 by Sy Yules. He recognized the need for part-time Product Management and Strategic Planning assistance. He saw that in order for the planning process to be productive it was necessary to include outside third parties. These outside assistants would not tied to the corporate hierarchy, pecking order, pigeon-holing, and various other corporate behaviors which hinder making real game changing progress. The company had customers and revenue its first month of business, and now twenty years later still provides value to them.
After 10 years of helping customers grow their business Sy decided to try his hand in a start-up company. In 1998, he co-founded Telica, Inc, which provided VoIP core network switches to Incumbent and Competitive Local Exchange Carriers. In 2004, Telica was acquired by Lucent Technologies for $324,000,000.
